Bad start to what was suppose to be a good day…

It’s friday which means it’s my work from home day! Sweet right?! I get to sit at my desk working in my pajamas until 2pm or at least until I begin to notice how bad I reek which forces me to take a shower. Well that all ended this morning when I heard the awful buzz of the DPT go-carts.

Coldplay is fin?!

I’m afraid that Christopher, my old college roommate and good friend, has once again decided to rag on the success of yet another good talent. (Reworked musical genres, 05/24/03) If Christopher had joined me to see Coldplay at Bimbos on 08/18/2002, he would be convinced that these guys deserve this success.

Christopher should be complaining about the air time performers like Pink, Jennifer Lopez (aka, J. Lo), or even everyone’s favorite *NSYNC member Justin Timberlake receive. These jokers should have never been offered studio time let alone the amount of money allotted to promote these hideous albums. What kills me is that J. Lo even refused to sing her hit song live on SNL, because the energy it takes to sing the song would take away from her dance performance. Bull!

There are plenty of bands that would give their first born child to get that gig. I’m not sure what the reasoning is, but this stuff sells and sells big.

Now, Christopher points out a few choice electronic artists. I’m with you man, these guys should get more props for their work. But, what happens when artists try to make a living? They are treated the way Moby was when his music began showing up on TV adds. People start calling him a sell out! But why? Because he was trying to make a living at what he loves to do.

All because record producers push what sells and most Americans will only buy what they are told to. Case in point!

Btw, what does ‘fin’ mean? I’m guessing the five dollar reference and not a fish limb. :)

Out of shape!

So I am starting to train for a local bike race coming up in early July. The plan is to compete in the 100K route, but after today’s ride I’m wondering if I’ll be able to finish the 16K loop. I know, I know it’s my first ride in quite some time, but I am really beat. And only after the relatively flat 13 mile loop. I have a long way to go…

Yes, it’s definitely a wonderful 29th birthday…

The day begin watching some coverage on KRON of this year’s Bay to Breakers. Nicole and I ended up riding our bikes over to the park after breakfast to watch the festivities in person. By the time we arrived the race had turned into a full fledged parade. We saw plenty of outrageous costumes, people pushing shopping carts to hold their 1/4 keg of bud, and of course bare body parts. I’m not sure what compels people to strut though town buck naked, but I only hope they had enough commonsense to purchased sun screen before the race, because it was a beautiful day! After watching the crowd for about 10 minutes we decided it was a good idea for us to sneak in some exercise. The event had blocked off the Great Highway all the way down to Sloat. This made our bike ride by the ocean perfect, not a car in sight!
