Just for kicks I tried to comment on an entry within my blog today and found out this feature has never worked… NICE!

Well after searching though MovableType’s Support Forum I found the problem was due to the implementation of scgiwrap. This didn’t take long to fix. But, I began to wondered what else is broken in my setup…

So I setup a second blog to test the trackback feature and discovered that it too was broken… Again it has to deal with scgiwrap! Apparently it doesn’t like the Trackback ID within the CGI path info. It looks to me that it’s attempting to run the CGI with the ID being the file…

To fix this I have modified my Trackback template to output a workable URL which will allow people to ping me correctly…

I ask again, what else can be broken?!

I wish I had time to install blogging systems. Citydesk kind of sucks. It really doesn’t do much for you.

MovableType really only takes an hour or so to get it up and running. It’s pretty straight forward. If you want to run it a bit more secure, ie under scgiwrap, then you may run into a problem here or there like i did.

I’m still using one of the default layouts, so I really haven’t spent too much time customizing it..
