Another great internet cafe…
Published February 26th, 2005 in Food and WineNicole and I decided to give Cafe Evolution a test drive today. I have to say it’s way better than The Canvas. They have good food and drinks, an outdoor patio area with electric outlets for your laptop when they run low, and of course FREE Wi-Fi!
If you’re wandering around the Sunset and are looking to hangout in a hip cafe, then you should definitely check it out. I recommend grabbing a bowl of vegetarian chili, a large iced tea, and wander out back to the patio and plopping yourself down in one of the plush couches.
Just remember - make sure you’re running a firewall of some kind on your laptop. XP sp2 comes with one built-in, but if you’re not running XP, ZoneAlarm has one for free.
Hackers, you don’t have to worry about too much, but there are a lot of zombie computers infected with all sorts of stuff.
Yes I know. There’s all sorts of interesting things you can see with ethereal at the cafe. But, that gets boring pretty fast.
My Torts study group met at the Canvas a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday morning, and I didn’t get the warm fuzzies for the place. First, there seemed to be an outlet shortage, and second, though we only stayed two hours and all bought beverages and food, we apparently didn’t buy enough, and were really started to get the evil eye from the staff after an hour. Maybe I’ll have to suggest this new place for next time.
