Happy Hour at Zeitgeist…
Published March 11th, 2005 in Food and WineThe weather in San Francisco over the past couple of days has been steller. I’m talking 80 degrees and sunny, and it’s only March 11th folks. Not to worry, the fog has rolled in tonight so we’ll be back to our normal 60’s temps for the weekend.
Anyway, after spending a good portion of the day working from home and staring out the window at the crystal blue sky, I decided it was time to get out of the house for a drink. Ji suggested Zeitgeist for happy hour. It’s pretty much known as a biker / bike messenger bar located in the Mission. Far as I know it’s has the largest backyard garden area, which is clutch on days like today. As you can see from the pictures this place fills right up, and begins to look like a large house party. And by the time we left it pretty much was, most people were half in the bag and hooking up with complete strangers. Even though over 80% of them have tattoos, they tend to be a rather friendly bunch.
Well it’s rather hard to complain about a place which sells $10 pitchers of beer and a excellent BBQ burgers with home fries for a messily $6. Just make sure you get there early, on nice days like today you may find yourself in a line out front waiting to get in!

I like that razor wire security fence in the background there.
Owen, at the corner of 15th and Valencia, the razor wire is sort of required. This is definitely not the worst location in San Francisco, but far from the best. Plus, it makes the bikers feel a bit more at home.
